Located in Buntine, WA, Nick Shaw partnered with AUSPAN to design and construct a purpose-built workshop storage shed that would provide additional capacity while protecting valuable machinery from demanding seasonal conditions. The resulting 32m x 20m x 7.1m facility creates a spacious, weather-protected environment for machinery storage and maintenance, with improved access and flexibility to support the day-to-day needs of the growing farm.

The CHALLENGE

Creating more space while improving year-round protection

With the farm continuing to grow, Nick needed additional workshop and storage capacity with improved access for large machinery.

Year-round protection was also important, with the workshop shed needing to protect valuable machinery and provide a practical working environment through Buntine’s hot summers and wet winters.

Key requirements included:

Increase workshop and machinery storage capacity
Protect valuable machinery from seasonal weather
Improve access and manoeuvrability
Maximise usable internal space

The Solution

A practical design built around access and capacity

Drawing on extensive agricultural design and construction experience, AUSPAN delivered a 32m x 20m x 7.1m workshop designed around the additional space, protection and accessibility Nick required.

Four 8m x 6m bottom-rolled sliding doors provide generous access for large machinery, while a girder truss increases usable internal space and improves manoeuvrability throughout the workshop. Roof and wall insulation provide additional protection from seasonal conditions, creating a more practical environment for year-round use.

Delivered by AUSPAN’s local WA teams, the project was managed from concept to completion with clear communication throughout.

The completed workshop shed provides Nick with increased storage capacity and reliable weather protection, helping safeguard valuable machinery while creating a more practical environment for storage, maintenance and everyday farm requirements.

Improved access, greater internal space and a durable, insulated structure make it easier to accommodate and manoeuvre large machinery while providing protection through changing seasonal conditions.
