Located in Wilyabrup, WA, Rory Hovell partnered with AUSPAN to design and construct a multipurpose indoor riding arena that would become a signature facility for Yalambi Farm Stud while supporting training and equestrian events. The resulting 33.75m x 72.9m facility combines practical functionality with a distinctive European-inspired design, providing a premium environment and impressive venue.
The CHALLENGE

Designing for performance, presentation and versatility

The facility needed to balance a high level of architectural detail with the practical demands of a working equestrian environment.

Ventilation, structural protection and functionality all required careful consideration to ensure the arena could perform effectively during training and events without compromising the premium finish.

The Solution

A tailored design built around performance and presentation

Over five years of concept development, AUSPAN worked closely with Rory to refine his vision and deliver a customised facility that combines premium presentation with practical equestrian functionality.

A high-quality jarrah kickboard system runs the length of the arena, helping protect structural columns during training and events. Integrated louvres and cladding support natural ventilation, while a raised viewing deck, dedicated equipment storage and integrated lighting and audio provide the flexibility required to host equestrian events.

Delivered by AUSPAN’s local WA design, manufacturing and project delivery teams, the project was managed from concept development through to completion, with close collaboration maintained throughout each stage.

The completed project provides Yalambi Farm Stud with a premium, purpose-built environment that supports everyday training while offering the infrastructure and flexibility required to host equestrian events.
