Hello and welcome to the AUSPAN Ag Inform for September.
It’s been an action-packed few weeks in the Wheatbelt with both Dowerin and Newdegate Machinery Field Days taking place. As always, the AUSPAN team, led by Dean and Nev, were on hand at both events to provide the best shed advice in WA, and it was great to see so many of you attending both events.
Farewell to DMFD General Manager Danielle Green
We just wanted to take this opportunity to say a big thank you and farewell to the General Manager of Dowerin Machinery Field Days, Danielle Green, after four very successful years at the helm. AUSPAN’s Marketing Manager Al Black caught up with Danielle at the event, so feel free to check out the interview below. We wish Danielle all the best with the next stage of her career and fingers crossed she remains in WA’s ag industry!
50 x 30m Robotic Milking Facility in Capel
With the dairy industry in WA being fairly limited, it’s not every day that a large dairy project comes along, so we were particularly excited to recently visit the farm of Mark Haggerty in Capel. This 50 x 30m robotic milking facility has a length by width lean-to for added flexibility and also features a 38m ridge roof vent for optimal airflow and climate control.
48 x 18 x 7.15m Hay Shed in Cascade
And speaking of newly completed sheds, it’s time to commence our monthly road trip, and we’ll begin this month at the farm of Ken Scholz in Cascade which is about one hour northeast of Esperance. Here we have a 48 x 18 x 7.15m Hay Shed complete with 2x double track, bottom rolled sliding doors, and 2x girder trusses for 16m clear span openings.
32 x 12 x 5m Chemical Shed in Tandegin
Next we’re heading five hours northeast to the farm of Andrew Martin from Warakirri Cropping and this 32 x 12 x 5m Chemical Shed featuring 2x PA doors, 3x triple track, bottom rolled sliding doors, 30m of 150mm ridge vent, 9 wall vents, and bunded floor with a centrally located sump drain, and concrete apron.
24 x 8 x 6.2m Chemical Shed in York
And to finish this month’s road trip we’re heading to York to visit John Foss from Augment Agricultural. Here we find another Chemical Shed and this one is 24 x 8 x 6.2m, and contains 1x PA door, 1x single track, bottom rolled sliding door, 6 lineal metres of 150mm ridge vent and 4x louvre wall vents.
We’ll soon be reporting on a couple of great events taking place in the Geraldton region, so make sure you keep an eye on our Facebook page for those.
So that’s it for September. All the best for the rest of the month and we’ll catch up with you again in October.
