Hello and welcome to the AUSPAN Ag Inform for March.
Everyone is well and truly finished with harvest and it’s now that time of year where you’ll be busy getting your seeding gear ready and hoping that the opening rains arrive at just the right time to set the season up properly.
Gate to Plate Challenge
If you’re in the Albany area on Tuesday March 24, AUSPAN will be attending the 2026 Gate to Plate Challenge, at the Willyung Farms Feedlot in Albany. Run alongside the event, is the Gate 2 Plate Schools Challenge, which is an interschool competition aimed at Year 12 students.
Activities on the day include presentations from industry speakers fun group activities around current topics in the beef industry and providing students with the opportunity to network with the whole beef supply chain.
32 x 15 x 6m Machinery Shed in Wandering
It’s time to hit the road, and we’re kicking off this month’s trip in Wandering with Peter Warburton and his 32 x 15 x 6m Machinery Shed. This four-bay shed with 8m bay spacing like all our sheds is built on a fully galvanised steel frame for long-term durability, complete with corrugated zinc cladding and a tapered gutter system that tapers all the water to one end of the shed.
32 x 18 x 6.65m Tunnel Shed in West Gutha
Next, we’re heading north to West Gutha to take a look at this recently completed Tunnel Shed for Ashley James. Measuring 32 x 18 x 6.65m, this four-bay design with 8m spacing and two side walls provides ample space and protection for large machinery and equipment. This is a very common design that is great for storing large machinery such as road trains or seeding rigs.
24 x 18 x 9m Grain and Fertiliser Shed in Borden
We’re wrapping up this month’s trip through the Wheatbelt down in Borden, catching up with Rory Vermeersch and his 24 x 18 x 9m Grain and Fertiliser Shed. This shed features four 6m-wide x 8.35m-high double-track sliding doors. These doors run on a Top Hung system so that there are no door tracks on the concrete floor. This shed also includes 2 girder trusses, delivering 12m clear-span openings designed for efficient access and high-capacity storage.
We hope you enjoy the rest of March, and we look forward to touching base again next month.
